FG To Maintain Presidential Jets With N1.52Bn In 2014

CBN Mallam Lamido Sanusi To Leave Office April 1, 2014

Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Lamido Sanusi will proceed on retirement leave effective April 1st 2014, two months to the end of his tenure.

It would be recalled that President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua  nominated Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on  June 1, 2009 and his appointment was confirmed by the Senate on  June 3,  2009. Hence his five year tenure is scheduled to end on June 3rd 2014.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos Director of Social Communications, Monsignor Gabriel Osu, reacting to Pastor Kumuyi’s proclamation about the celebration of Christmas, said: 

“I don’t know what he means by saying the practice of celebrating Christmas is wrong. “Is he saying that Christ wasn’t born? That he didn’t come to die for us? Does he not celebrate his own birthday?  

"Do Kumuyi’s pastors not celebrate him? It is not everything I react to; some people just seek attention. If Kumuyi is a Christian, then he must believe in Christ.

“The celebration of Christmas didn’t just start today; it is too public an event for anyone to say that they don’t know what it is about. If Kumuyi is condemning the commercialisation of Christmas, I can understand that. President Goodluck Jonathan's Replies Obasanjo's Letter

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Sunday replied a letter written to him by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In response titled ‘Re: Before it is too late’, Jonathan said he decided to respond in writing because Obasanjo’s letter was clearly a threat to national security as it may deliberately or inadvertently set the stage for subversion.
