Federal Government Of Nigeria Gives ASUU 1 week Ultimatum To Call Off Strike

A press briefing in Abuja this morning, the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike told journalist that the Federal Government has given the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) one week ultimatum to call off the ongoing strike.

ASUU executive and President Jonathan were supposed to meet this week but the meeting is yet to hold. The ASUU strike began July 1, almost 5 months later, no resolution in sight. Saddly

The FG also said any Academic staff who fails to resume on or before December 4th automatically ceases to be a staff of the institution. Pro-chancellors of the various universities and the National Universities Commissions (NUC) have been directed to ensure compliance of this directive.

Lagos State 4th Mainland Bridge Private Sector To Finance N220bn

The private sector in the country is to finance the construction of the 4th mainland bridge with N220 billion. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Lagos State, Mr. Ben Akabueze, at the 2013 Seminar/Luncheon of the Financial Services Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI.  Akabueze said the federal or states government would not be financing the 4th Mainland Bridge as private sector investors have made plans to invest N220 billion in the construction of the bridge.

In Abuja today, The rank and file of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has increased, as the Abubakar Baraje-led faction of the New Peoples Democratic Party, n(PDP) have joined the  APC, The chairman of the faction, Abubakar Baraje announced the merger to journalists at the end of a meeting at the Kano Governors Lodge in Abuja. The seven aggrieved governors of the People’s Democratic Party reached this decision in a meeting held last night at the Kano State governors’ lodge in Abuja. The meeting ended at about 12.30am. This marks the end of several meetings that have been held between the rebellious faction of the PDP and the APC. While being wooed by the APC, the New PDP leaders were also meeting with the president to resolve their differences, but were unable to resolve the conflicts of interest.

NNPC Sold $20.9bn Crude And Remitted Just $7bn

naijacelebritynews.blogspot.com gathered on thursday that House of Representatives ordered another round of investigation into the sale of crude oil and its remittances by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to the nation's account. The focus of the fresh investigation is “volume and value of crude oil sales and remittances” by NNPC from January to date. “One of the areas of concern is the NNPC’s Joint Venture operations. There are several billions of dollars that are unaccounted for. Some JV partners will come before the committee and give you information that the NNPC cannot contradict. “Now, when you confront NNPC with this information, they don’t address the issues at stake. Reports from the Auditor-General’s Office have many cases against the NNPC. When this investigation is being conducted, I urge the ad-hoc committee to liaise with the Public Accounts Committee. We have information we can give to the committee to assist the investigation.”

The stunning red white and silver decor was designed to perfection by The Wedding Guru from roses to cascading orchid centerpieces, the guests were swept up in the romance of the hall. Ngozi Akintujoye and Omorinsola Arodundade of Perfect Coordinators planned key details of the occasion. The pair is becoming a go-to for celebrity and high-profile couples. The bride’s makeup was by Banke Meshida-Lawal of BM|Pro who also created the beauty look for the mother of the bride and the beads via her Coral Reef line. As expected for a huge celeb wedding, it was teeming with media which was coordinated and managed by PR Exec Bayo Adetu.

The bride wore three fabulous ensembles – one from her Yoruba culture, an Igbo outfit for her husband and an embellished emerald green dress. The glistening and glam fabrics were from Foradora. The groom looked so happy and handsome in his maroon outfit, while his groomsmen wore grey, then he changed into a red cap representing his chieftaincy paired with a pure white attire.

Guests included celebrities – from Nollywood, musicans, media personalities, politicians and of course family and friends. Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, Sayyu Dantata, Folorunsho Alakija, Gov. Jude Okoye Was Not At His Brother, Peter Okoye's Wedding Yesterday

P-Square's publicist Bayo Adetu confirmed that Jude Okoye was not at Peter and Lola's wedding yesterday. I asked why he didn't attend and he said Jude and some members of P-Square's band were stuck in Ghana after their Saturday night show. He said Peter and Paul were able to make the trip back on Sunday morning but not Jude. That's the official reason. Don't know if I believe it. but hopefully there's good reason for Jude missing his brother's wedding. And like I said yesterday, Paul was at the wedding, He just didn't participate in pics taking.

Nigerian Billionaire Businessman Jimoh Ibrahim Arrested Over N6b Tax Fraud

Naijacelebritynews.blogspot.com gathered that Special Enforcement Unit of Federal Inland Revenue Service has arrested billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, over a tax fraud that runs into N6.8b.Sources within the unit said that Mr. Ibrahim was picked up today and is currently under detention at the offices of the agency. According to one source, “We are investigating a case where Chief Ibrahim, defrauded the federal government to the tune of N6.8 billion. He is in our custody, we take intend to take a statement from the suspect under caution”, he added. One of our sources said Mr. Mr. Ibrahim have been evading agents of the unit for some time but disclosed that they eventually caught up with him in his hotel room in NICON Luxury Hotel where he was arrested this afternoon in Abuja.
