Arsene Wenger Cancels Press Conference Puzzled By Thrashing At Chelsea

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has cancelled his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s game with Swansea after admitting he remains puzzled by the thrashing at Chelsea.
The Gunners were beaten 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, a result that seriously damages their hopes of challenging for the Premier League title. Wenger’s side are now fourth in the table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea, although they do have a game in hand on Jose Mourinho’s side.
The match at Stamford Bridge was Wenger’s 1,000th in charge of Arsenal, but it represented yet another poor performance this season against their main rivals. The Gunners were beaten 6-3 by Manchester United earlier this season and 5-1 by Liverpool when they were 4-0 down inside 20 minutes.
And the latest defeat has been followed by Wenger taking the unusual step of deciding not to speak to the press on Monday and instead just giving an interview to the club’s website. SEE MORE AFTER CUT>>>>>>>>>

it was believed Arsene Wenger has revolutionised English football but it could be the end of his reign at Arsenal.  In the aftermath of Saturday’s heavy defeat, Wenger did speak to the press and admitted that he was puzzled by the loss.
“We felt we prepared properly, but we did not turn up, so it is puzzling,” Wenger said. “After 20 minutes, it was game over and it became a long, dramatic and dreadful afternoon. “That is the most disappointing, when you prepare with the intensity that we do, you then turn up for your game of the season and are never even in it.
“This is puzzling because we were shocked and knocked down basically without feeling you have had a chance. “The team is healthy and willing, but still the way it happened against Chelsea, we have to think deeply about because it is not the first time and (we have) to respond in a proper way on Tuesday.” “I don’t know why, but it looks like we don’t fancy early kick-offs away. It looks like we are going to have to apply to the FA to not play at 12.45 away.”
