WHAT IS TELEMATICS? The Benefits of Vehicle Telematics.

Telematics typically is any integrated use of telecommunications and informatics, also known as ICT (Information and Communications Technology). Hence the application of telematics is with any of the following: The technology of sending, receiving and storing information via telecommunication devices in conjunction with affecting control on remote objects. The integrated use of telecommunications and informatics, for application in vehicles and with control of vehicles on the move.

Telematics includes but is not limited to Global Positioning System technology integrated with computers and mobile communications technology in automotive navigation systems.

Most narrowly, the term has evolved to refer to the use of such systems within road vehicles, in which case the term vehicle telematics may be used.

In contrast telemetry is the transmission of measurements from the location of origin to the location of computing and consumption, especially without affecting control on the remote objects. Telemetry is typically applied in testing of flight objects but has multiple other uses.

Federal Government Of Nigeria Increases Fee International Passport By 50%

The Nigerian Government has recently increased International passport fee by 50%. Suspended CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi: Sues Goodluck Jonathan Over ‘Illegal’ Suspension

The Recently Suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally concretised his threat to sue President Goodluck Jonathan over his removal as head of the bank last week. According to a suit filed at a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja late on Monday, Sanusi is challenging his suspension from office; and he has implored the court to, among others, restrain the president alongside Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) from giving effect to his suspension, pending the determination of his lawsuit.

He is also seeking an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from obstructing, disturbing, stopping or preventing him in any manner, from performing the functions of his office and enjoying in full, the statutory powers and privileges attached to the office of the governor of the CBN. Gunmen Abduct President Goodluck Jonathan’s Adopted Father In Bayelsa

Lamido Sanusi Remains CBN Governor, Says President Jonathan

British Council Interactive Session On Graduate Employment Holds This Week

British Council on Wednesday, 26 February,will hold an interactive session with stakeholders in the Education sector to discuss graduate employability and inclusive development with a view to advancing effective policy to address unemployment challenges. The Forum, which will attract participants from the academia, employers of labour, young people and policy makers, will deliberate on research findings from Nigeria’s current education policies and statistics, according to a statement by the British Council Communication Manager, Mr. Desmond Omovie. It said existing research shows that despite global attention to higher education and employability, there is a surprisingly weak evidence base. “Little is known about the causes of poor graduate outcomes and what universities can do to improve their offering,” the statement said. FRSC: Nigerian Driver's License Acceptable In Europe, USA & Some Other Countries Of The World

FRSC Lagos State Sector Commander, Chidi Nkwonta has said that the upgraded Driver's License being issued now in Nigeria can be used in 3 states in America as well as some countries in Europe. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday, Commander Nkwonta said in the US, the states of  Washington DC, California and Maryland recognize the Nigerian Driver's license while European countries such as Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Austria and Sweden also recognize the Nigerian Drivers License. He said the license can be used in these places for a period of time, after which their own licenses would be issued. He said these countries have the security measures to detect whether a presented Nigerian License is fake or original. He said efforts are being made for more states in the US to accept the use of our national drivers license there.

Nigerian Man Accused Of Killing Banker Wife Is Sentenced To Death In Lagos

Nigerian man accused of killing his banker wife on  June 24th 2011,Named Ayo Arowolo, has been sentenced to death by a Lagos high court. Presiding judge, Lateefat Okunnu held that Mr. Arowolo was guilty of murder and ruled that he should be sent to the gallows.

In a long judgment lasting more than two and half hours, presiding judge ruled that Ayo was guilty of killing his wife Mrs. Omozodje Arowolo. The judge, Mrs. Lateefat Okunnu relied on testimonies and evidences of fifteen witnesses including family members of the deceased, investigating police officers, photographers and Chief pathologist of Lagos State to make her judgment. Bill Gates Predicts Almost No Poor Countries By Year 2035

Bill Gates has predicted that by 2035 there will be virtually no poor countries in the world. According to information from the World Bank there are officially 35 poor countries in the world today where citizens live with low or no income. Gates, the richest individual in the world with an estimated fortune of $76.8 billion, wrote that in the next 20 years “every nation in South America, Asia, Central America and most in coastal Africa will have joined the ranks of today’s middle-income nations.” He predicts that by 2035 all these regions will have seriously improved their financial position. Mr. Gates added that "When I was born, most countries in the world were poor. In the next two decades desperately poor countries will become the exception rather than the rule." Facebook Acquires Messaging App WhatsApp For $19bn

Facebook has agreed to buy the mobile messaging company WhatsApp for $19bn (£11.4bn), the social network has announced. The company said in a statement that it would pay $4bn (£2.4bn) in cash and $15bn (£9bn) in Facebook shares as part of the deal. The app’s founders and employees will get $3bn (£1.8bn) of the shares as restricted stock that will vest over four years after the deal closes. The purchase marks the largest single acquisition in Facebook’s 10-year history. WhatsApp is a real-time mobile messaging service with more than 450 million monthly users.
